Additional 2021 FIRST LEGO LEAGUE CHALLENGE Fast Starts
are being planned for September for Louisiana teams!
Detail will be provided when available.

Need help getting started?  There are several opportunities to attend a FIRST Lego League (FLL) “Jump-Start” Training this year!  It is a great way for rookie teams to get up to speed, but veteran teams are also welcome. Each Jump-Start is being graciously hosted by FIRST teams, so the particular agendas may vary, but the objective is to go home with a better understanding of this year’s challenge and programming!

To make the most of this opportunity, it is recommended that you:
* Build your robot ahead of time. Instructions for a basic robot come with the EV3 or Spike Prime sets.
* Bring your team laptop, if you have one, with the software already loaded. If you don’t yet have your software, you can now download the Mindstorms EV3 Education Edition free from Note that the new EV3 Classroom Edition is scratch based software. The old EV3 software can be found under the EV3 HOME Edition.

Attendance is free, but you must register by the Wednesday prior to the Saturday event.  If the registration number exceeds the capacity of a facility, registration for that event will be closed. Each team may bring up to 10 students max and must be accompanied by an adult. No students may be dropped off unaccompanied.  Questions regarding the Fast Starts may be addressed to Louisiana FIRST LEGO League Partners Dr. Annette Oertling at or Dr. Michelle Sanchez at
